People have been fishing at Ness Point in Lowestoft for hundreds of years and is quite a popular place to do so. It seems that the most likely fish to be caught of Ness Point are Codling, Sea Bass or an Eel.

Local and regional fishermen will often come to Ness Point to seek solace from other activities that may occur during the tourist months at the typical sea fishing hot spots of Lowestoft. These being The South Pier and Kessingland beach respectively.

There has been no record fish catches off Ness Point although there is a rumour that often circulates around the Lowestoft community that a old gentleman was once pulled into the sea by a fish so big and strong that the gentleman was never prepared to let it go and instead decided to go with the fish.
